Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2014
Well, I finally made it to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and it didn’t disappoint me and I will definitely will be going back. Before I get into writing about our journey I will tell you that if you haven’t been it’s a must do. Now on to the journey.
The journey started with me leaving South Florida and heading to Georgia to meet up with my good friends. No we were not riding our bikes because I guess we are not that hardcore, plus I am still working and didn’t have the time. I do want to make the journey on the bike, so I can experience the ride across the country.
Once we arrived in Georgia we unloaded our bikes and loaded them on our friends trailer for the beginning of the real journey across country in a motorhome. Destination was Sturgis in 2 1/2, which was a total of roughly 1600 miles. Here we were getting ready to head out early in the morning. This would be our home on the road for the next 10 days.

Here’s a video of our journey…
Our first stop on our journey was St. Louis, MO so we could see the archway to the west. Being from Florida it was one of those things I wanted to see along the way. We found a great campground that is part of the casino right across from the arch.

Our next stop was one that was planned but happened, and it was a stop in Mitchel, SD. The most interesting part was stopping to see the Corn Palace. This wasn’t one of the items on my bucket list, but it was one of those things that was unusual enough to stop and visit. If you haven’t heard about it look it up online because it was an interesting part of history. The art is made of corn. You can see the pictures below.

Next stop was the campground outside of Sturgis and then our first trip into town to check it out.
